If you’ve ever felt unsure where to begin, overwhelmed by materials, frustrated that your colours look flat, or that your paintings lack depth—you’re not alone. Many people struggle with perspective, capturing a likeness, creating texture, or simply feel that “everyone else seems better.” You might even believe you “can’t draw a straight line.”
I understand these challenges and am confident that I can help you move past them. I believe the key to successful drawing and painting lies in truly observing what you’re looking at—relying on your eyes more than your assumptions. My supportive teaching style encourages you to develop your own unique artistic voice, backed by a strong understanding of form, colour mixing, and technique.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone looking to refine specific areas, each session is tailored to your pace and needs. You can explore subjects such as landscapes, seascapes, still life, florals, or portraits, with a focus on drawing, watercolour or oils —always in a calm and encouraging space.

Session Length: 1 hour 30 minutes
Cost: £35.00 per session (payable on the day via cash, cheque, or card)
Location: Patsy’s studio in West Sussex
Materials: Beginners will be provided with materials for the first session. Subsequent sessions require students to bring their own materials. An easel, drawing board, paper, pencils, graphite, and water pot are available for use.
Flexibility: No set course duration—attend a single session or a series, depending on your needs.
For your first session, please bring any previous work to assess your style, standard, areas of interest, and personal challenges.
